I am sensing some serious change this next year. I have a full week coming up with no official shoots or work commitments. This next week is going to be about completing all my tasks from 2012, and beginning to form some new changes to myself and to my business. I am so excited to share what is going on in my head, but it will have to wait until it makes a bit more sense. Still looks a little squidgy on the edges…Before I dive into the planning for the next year, I thought I should probably look back and see what I've been up to. So, here are my highlights from 2012 that have become the catalyst for the exciting year to come.
It started out with a Vegas trip with my hubby to take in WPPI for the first time. For those that don't know, WPPI is like Disneyland for photographers. It's where we all get together and geek out for a week straight on everything photography.
I got to spend a week in Calgary visiting a few of my favourite people in the whole wide world. I still have a big love for that city and I adore every minute spent there!
I turned 30. Enough said.
My wedding season began with an incredible wedding. Andrea + Ken were the most perfect couple to kick off the wedding season.
I bought a house with my hubby and turned it into our first vacation home, 'The Peach House'.
Christina's Seattle Stagette. Enough said.
Ry and I celebrated out 3rd wedding anniversary by having Jessica Balfour photograph us… such a wonderful day and the photos are something I will cherish forever. And then we officially celebrated by going camping. In a real trailer. Not sure if I'll ever go back to tenting now!
Bike Posse for Mark + Janelle's engagement = so much fun!
Christina and Mike tied the knot. The weekend of weekends. Such a special time to celebrate my best friend and the love of her life...
Ended the 2012 wedding season with an amazing wedding in Cuba with a beautiful couple that I adore more than words.
And then, we ended the year celebrating Christmas surrounded by our family. Too much ridiculously good food, too much wine, too much chocolate and too many moments of 'almost peeing myself because I'm laughing so hard'. Of course, in between all those amazing moments were a few heartaches, a few tummy aches, and a few tears, but I truly feel that it may be those moments that catapult us forward to push further than we thought possible. They also teach us what is important in life, and remind us of what we really want. I am thankful for each and every event this year and will use them to shape my future for the better. Thank you 2012 and I can't wait for 2013!
And because every post is better with a picture, here is a photo from a mini-engagement session we did with the lovely Scott + Tammy in Cuba. More to come of this session soon!
